Adolescent Therapy at S.T.A.R.S.
S.T.A.RS. Adolescent Therapy is done throught he complete supervision of Svetlana (Lana) Tzondova, RPT, a European-trained therapist with 25+ years experience, and over 10 years [specifically] with pediatric and adolescent patients. She is a former Bulgarian National Champion and former physical therapist to the Bulgarian National team, as well as, the National Sports Academy; also a former physical therapist at the Bulgarian National Rehabilitation Center. Her excellent hands-on and individualized therapies have earned her many praises.

Young children are being pushed harder, and at younger ages, to excel at sports. This pressure leads to overplay. Overuse injuries are becoming more and more prevalent in these children as they tend to devote more time to the sports they fall in love with. Unlike adults that overplay, children have the potential to poorly impact their bone growth. When adolescent bones are growing, any fracture near a growth plate, where tissue is developing at the end of a bone, can lead to more serious consequences.

S.T.A.R.S. has the expertise and qualifications to treat youth-specific problems from acute or chronic sports injuries. Adolescent injuries often are quite different from conditions more commonly seen in older patients. Our child-specific programs are geared to handle these special needs by uniting advanced facilities with a hands-on, family-centered approach. Our goal is to help children return to their regular routine with their families, schools and communities.
